A late Victorian silver three piece bachelor tea service, comprising teapot, twin-handled sucrier and cream jug, each of squat ovoid form with ornate foliate decoration enclosing a central cartouche, with engraved initials 'S. M.', the teapot with ebonised handle and finial, the rest with plain curved handles. Hallmarked William Hutton & Sons, London 1886. Height of teapot 4.25 (11cm), gross weight 14.2 ozt (441.7 grams). With scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.Hallmarks are clear and legible.Teapot with small dent towards the lid, heavy tarnishing to interior and small scratch to handle.Cream jug with small dent to body.Some residue of silver polish across items.Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
