Two silver drum mustard pots, the first a late Victorian example with oblique gadrooned rim and flat hinged lid with shell thumb-piece, hallmarked Walter & John Barnard, London 1893, the second Edwardian mustard with reeded border detail, hallmarked Stokes & Ireland Ltd., London 1902; both with blue glass liners and associated condiment spoons dated Sheffield 1884 and 1913. Silver weight 6.78 ozt (211 grams). (2). Both displaying a little general wear and tarnishing, with some surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. Both hinged lids with some slight movement. Victorian example closes flush to lid. Lid of Edwardian mustard appears slightly off centre when closed rising a little on one side, hinge fitting is at a slight angle so possibly repairedSeam lines visible to interior of both and on the Victorian mustard a patch or impression can be seen in the area of the join of the base of the handle, possible repairHallmarks a little rubbed, especially on the Edwardian mustard, but mostly clearly legible, including part hallmarks to both lids. Both spoons and glass liners generally appear in good order.Both liners are a good fit but cannot guarantee they are original to the pots.
