A late Victorian silver dish in the form of a scallop shell and raised on three reeded ball feet, embossed to the whole with foliate scrolls and flowers with further decorative pierced motifs. Hallmarked Atkin Brothers, Sheffield 1899. Maximum length 9.75 (25cm), weight 7.3 ozt (227 grams). Appears in good overall condition, displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some surface wear and rubbing to areas of the decoration causing some slight loss of detail or definition. Residues of polish to some areas.Likely repair to the front foot as it is now compressed into the base. Hallmarks in good order.
