A pair of Edwardian silver sauce boats, each of typical bellied form with scalloped rim, foliate capped flying scroll handle and standing on three shell mounted hoof feet, hallmarked William Aitken, Birmingham 1901 and 1902, overall length 6 1/8 inches (15.5 cm). Together with two 1930's sauce boats, the first hallmarked Sheffield 1932, the second Birmingham 1933 (one foot deficient). Weight 16.25 ozt (505.5 grams). All four sauce boats displaying some general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing consistent with age. On one of the pairs of sauce boats - repair to one foot, now at a slight angle and surface very pitted. On this same example the surface of handle also appears very pitted, hallmarks also heavily rubbed and worn.The 1933 sauce boat in poor condition with heavy wear and tear and missing a foot.
