A George III plain silver mug, of baluster form to a flared footed base with crest engraving to one side and a foliate capped double scroll handle, gilt interior. Hallmarked London 1785, maker's mark partly distorted, probably Hester Bateman. Height 4 3/4 inches (12 cm), weight 10.77 ozt (335 grams). Appears in fairly good overall condition. Heavy tarnishing throughout and would benefit from a clean and polish. Displaying general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Slight knock to foot rim. Slight gap at the top of the handle join to main body.Some rubbing to crest but still fairly bright. Hallmarks located to underside of base, monarch head slightly rubbed on one side but still clear and legible. Maker's mark partly distorted.
