A William IV silver vinaigrette, the rounded rectangular form with stipple and punch engraved borders enclosing flower motifs, the hinged lid opening to a silver-gilt interior and plain grille with simple drilled holes. Hallmarked Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham 1832. Length 2.2cm, weight 6 grams. Displaying some expected surface wear, marks and scratches consistent with the age and use. Heavier tarnishing to some areas and would benefit from a clean and polish. Slightly heavier wear around edges and corners with a couple of minor knocks or bruises.Hinged lid appears in good working order and closes flush, however it is fairly loose and does not stay closed securely. Grille hinge also in good order. Interior displaying some deeper and larger scratched marks. A few nicks around edges of some of the grille holes.Hallmarked to interior with further maker's mark and lion passant to grille. Some slight distortion but mostly legible. Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
