Appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general surface wear, marks and scratches. Tarnishing to some of the gilt mounts. Surface chips and damage to some of the stones and one stone missing. Also residues of dirt to some of the stone set mounts and in need of a clean. Some surface crazing, cracks and minor chips to enamel, particularly around the gilt and stone set mounts. Item has been tested electronically and results are varied. Blade tests around 92% Ag. Helmet tests only 44.5% Ag and around 48% Cu. Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns. Fellows does not guarantee the standard of silver, gold or platinum unless an item is hallmarked. Results from electronically tested items should only be used as a guide and with caution, as false readings are possible. Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
