A set of six sterling silver teaspoons and nine matching dessert forks, probably American, each with reeded stem and foliate scroll detail to terminal, also initial engraved, impressed 'sterling' with a further indistinct mark. Together with two mid-19th century Russian silver teaspoons, each with shaped scroll terminal, assay marks for 84 standard, St. Petersburg 1843 with further maker's mark. Total weight 18.38 ozt (571.7 grams). (17). All pieces appear in fairly good overall condition, displaying general expected surface wear, tarnishing, marks and scratches commensurate with their age and use. All spoon bowls with some heavier surface scratches and nicks but have otherwise faired well.Fork tines also with some heavier scratches and wear to tips but generally in good order and fairly even in length. Russian assay marks clear and legible. The indistinct mark to the sterling forks and spoons is probably a maker's mark.Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
