A George III silver sauce boat, the plain oval bellied form with gadroon rim and reeded loop handle, with engraved crest below the lip depicting a coronet above a stag's head, and the whole raised on three scroll feet. Hallmarked John Parker I & Edward Wakelin, London 1772. Overall length 8.5 (21.5cm) and height 5.75 (14.5cm), weight 13.49 ozt (419.7 grams). Of heavy gauge and appears in good overall condition. Displaying some tarnishing and some expected surface wear, marks, scratches and nicks consistent with the age and use. A few heavier nicks and pitting marks visible to the interior base and a slight impression from one foot is also visible (the foot below the lip).Appears to be some rim damage and repairs around the lip; there are small patches of a different tone. Also some possible repairs around the join of the handle to the rim and along the visible seam line of the handle. Some slight loss of surface detail to the shaped mounts of the feet.Hallmarks located in a straight line underneath, these are partly worn and rubbed especially the maker's mark.Scratch weight visible alongside the hallmarks, which reads 13:19.Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
