A mid-Victorian silver sugar basket modelled as a pail, the tapered form with gadroon rim above vertical pierced sides with floral and fruiting swag detail, with rope-twist swing handle and a frosted glass liner. Hallmarked Thomas Bradbury & Sons, Sheffield 1858. Height to rim 3.75 (9.5cm), gross silver weight 7.58 ozt (235.6 grams). Appears in good overall condition, displaying some general expected surface scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Seam line visible.Swing handle in good order and self-supports. Hallmarks located just below the rim, these are clear and legible. Glass liner a good fit and appears in good condition.
