A Victorian silver lidded and glass part dressing table set, comprising three jars of cylindrical form, one larger and two small, each with faceted glass body and star cut base, a further two examples of rectangular form with conforming star cut base, all with removable silver covers, foliate engraved with central vacant circular panel, plus a further rectangular lid lacking glass base. Hallmarked William Neal, London 1870. Length of larger rectangular example 7 inches (18cm). Glass all with scratches and small losses, particularly to edges and corners. Larger cylindrical example with larger loss to base, both rectangular examples with losses to edges. Silver covers with surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing, and some small indentations and knocks. Larger cylindrical example cover can not be removed, hallmarks can not be inspected but assumed to match.
