A late Victorian silver combination paper knife and pencil, with wrythen moulded decoration to the shaped handle and removable finial forming the small pencil, the plain blade hallmarked Sampson Mordan & Co., London 1896. Length measures 8.5 (21.5cm). Displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some heavier tarnishing and residues of polish to the grooves of the handle.A few deeper scratches and nicks are visible. Some heavier wear around the edge and tip of the blade. The finial to the handle is removable and forms the small pencil. Hallmarks a little rubbed but still clearly legible. Maker's mark appears to over stamp a different Mordan mark. Pencil and handle appear unmarked. Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
