A late Victorian silver mounted hand mirror, the circular bevelled edge mirror plate with silver back decorated with the five 'Angel's Head's', after Reynolds, with a foliate embossed handle. Hallmarked William Comyns & Sons, London 1896. Height 9.25 (23.5cm). Displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. Some surface wear and rubbing to the raised decoraiton of the angel heads, causing slight loss of detail or definition. Some likely repairs visible around the top of the handle. Also some small cracks to the lower handle around the scrolls. Mirror plate appears in good order, although there are some small pot marks evident to the bottom of the mirror backing. One set of hallmarks are clear and legible with light wear, the other set located around the edge are partly worn with heavier rubbing. Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
