A Victorian silver cream jug, of slightly tapering cylindrical form with curved handle, raised upon a short circular foot, with foliate engraved decoration to the whole and personal inscription, hallmarked Josiah Williams & Co, London 1896, height 3 1/4 inches (8cm). Together with three later cream jugs, the first example hallmarked Wakely & Wheeler, London 1908, the second Northern Goldsmiths Co, Birmingham 1935, hallmarks to the third rubbed, probably Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd, Birmingham 1906. Total weight 18.18 ozt (565.6 grams). (4). Victorian example with surface scratches, marks, wear and heavy tarnishing commensurate with age and use. Two knocks to lower body, and some nicks to edge of rim, spout and foot.Birmingham 1935 hallmarked example with surface scratches, small indentations and nicks, a few knocks, particularly to lower body, and some tarnishing.London 1908 hallmarked example with surface scratches, small indentations and nicks, and a number of knocks/dents to lower body, foot appears uneven and jug is unsteady, spout edge with a number of nicks. Hallmarks rubbed but legible.Example probably hallmarked Birmingham 1906 with surface scratches, marks, and heavy tarnishing. Inner part of handle pitted. Three feet all misshapen.
