A selection of small silver items to include a late Victorian cream jug with foliate scroll panels, hallmarked John Edward Wilmot, Birmingham 1897, a Victorian floral embossed cauldron open salt with blue glass liner, a small Edwardian twin-handled tazza, Birmingham 1906, two mid to later twentieth century christening cups and a cream jug, all with personal engravings. Together with a miniature three piece tea service on oval tray decorated in chinoiserie style. Weight excluding glass liner and teaset 16.2 ozt (504 grams). Multiple item lot in mixed condition, all pieces displaying general surface wear, tarnishing, marks and scratches commensurate with their age and use. Heavier damage to some pieces, especially the open salt which displays significant wear and rubbing to the decoration and several dints and holes in the metal. Some rubbing to hallmarks but mostly legible. The miniature set tests as very low grade silver at around 40-60% although the twin-handled pot does test at a higher grade. Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns. Fellows does not guarantee the standard of silver unless an item is hallmarked. Results from electronically tested items should only be used as a guide and with caution, as false readings are possible.Condition reports are offered as a guide only and due to the amount of items in this lot we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
