A George III silver basting spoon and a pair of slightly later table spoons, by Hester Bateman, each in plain Old English pattern. Hallmarked London 1781 and 1788 respectively. Length of basting spoon 11 1/2 inches (29 cm). Total weight 6.68 ozt (208 grams). All three spoons appear in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general tarnishing and expected surface wear, marks and scratches consistent with their age and use. Basting spoon - Heavier patches of tarnishing. Rubbing and loss of definition to heel drop. Bowl has faired well. Hallmarks rubbed but all legible. Table spoons - One spoon with slight crack/crease around the base of the bowl. Hallmarks to both clear and legible with some light rubbing.
