罗中立 1948年生于重庆。1982年毕业于四川美术学院油画系，后留校任教。1983-1986年在比利时安特卫普皇家美术学院进修，获硕士学位。曾任四川美术学院院长，中国当代艺术院院长，中国美术家协会常务理事，中国油画协会副主席，重庆市美术家协会主席，享受国家政府津贴。作品被中国美术馆、上海美术馆、台湾山美术馆、美国哈佛大学、美国俄克拉荷马州立美术馆、新加坡美术馆、比利时国家历史博物馆等海内外艺术机构及私人广泛收藏。
Luo Zhongli was born in Chongqing in 1948. After graduation in 1982 from Oil Painting Department at Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, he stayed there to teach. Between 1983 and 1986, he went to Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Belgium and graduated with a master's degree. Currently he is Headmaster of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, Standing Director of China Artists Association, Vice President of China Oil Painting Society and President of Chongqing Artists Association. He enjoys special government allowance.
