唐蕴玉 1906生于江苏吴江。为民国时期活跃一时的女画家之一。早年毕业于上海神州女子学校美术科西画专业。1927年12月22日在沪举办“唐蕴玉洋画展”。1928年与王济远、朱屺瞻、潘玉良等创立艺苑绘画研究所。东渡日本深造，作品曾入选东京展览会。1930年赴法入巴黎高等美术学校专攻油画，并先后入选巴黎的法国国家春季沙龙、秋季沙龙及杜而利沙龙。归国后在上海多所美术学校执教西画，同时致力创作。1929年曾参加“全国首届美术展览”，四十年代于上海大新画厅举办个展。晚年移居美国。
Tang Yunyu was born in Wujiang, Jiangsu Province in 1906. As a prominent woman artist in Republic of China Period, she started art career in Shanghai where she held Exhibition in 1927. One year later, Tang, along with other masters then, founded a research institute of painting in Shanghai. Later in her life, Tang went to Japan and France to further her study. Back to China, she participated in the First National Exhibition of Fine Artsin 1929, and held her second solo exhibition in Shanghai where hundreds of her works were displayed.
