孙为民 1946年生于黑龙江。1967年毕业于中央美术学院附中。1987年毕业于中央美术学院油画系，后获硕士学位。现任中央美术学院教授，油画系第一工作室主任，北京美术家协会副主席，北京油画艺术委员会主任，中国美术家协会油画艺术委员会委员，中国油画学会常务理事。
Sun Weimin was born in 1946 in Heilongjiang province. In 1967, he graduated from the the preparatory school of China Central Academy of Fine Arts and got master's degree from CAFA in 1984. Currently he is professor and Director of oil painting studio at CAFA, Vice President of Beijing Artists Association and Director of Beijing Oil Painting Committee.
