He graduated from China Academy of Art in 1990 with a bachelor's degree in oil painting and received a master's degree in 1996 from the same academy where he currently works as Director of Teaching and Research Office as well as professor with Oil Painting Department. Cui is a member of China Artists Association, Zhejiang Artists Associaiton and Zhejiang Oil Painters Association.||
