庞茂琨 1963年生于重庆。1985年毕业于四川美术学院油画系。1988年获硕士学位并留校任教。现任四川美术学院院长、重庆美术家协会副主席，重庆画院院长，中国美术家协会理事，中国油画学会理事，中国美术家协会油画艺委会委员。享受国务院政府津贴。曾在北京、香港、台湾等地多次举办个展。作品曾获“重庆首届油画展”优秀作品奖、“第九届全国美展”铜奖。
Pang Maokun was born in Chongqing in 1963. He graduated from the Department of Oil Painting at Sichuan Academy of Art in 1985. Later, he received a master's degree in 1988 from the same university where he stayed to teach. He is Deputy Director of Oil Painting Department of Sichuan Academy of Art, Director of Chongqing Painting Academy, council member of both China Artists Association and China Oil Painters Association. He staged solo shows in Beijing, Hong Kong and Taiwan, etc. His works won Excellence Award at the First Oil Painting Exhibition in Chongqing, and Bronze Prize at the Nineth National Art Exhibition.
