He graduated from Central Academy of Fine Arts. He is a teacher of the Fine Art department of Nanjing Institute of Arts while he serves as a council member of Oil Painting Academy of China. He received Biennial Academy Award of Chinese Oil Painting in the 1990s and other major awards like The Excellence Award of the Second Art Exposition of China. He held many personal exhibitions such as 'The Shape Orientation', 'Mao Yan Solo Exhibition' , etc.||
