艾中信 1915年生于上海。1941年毕业于中央大学艺术系并留校任教。曾任中国美术学院副研究员，北京艺术专科学校副教授，中央美术学院教授、油画系主任、副院长，吴作人国际美术基金会理事长，中国美术家协会理事。作品曾参加“第二届全国美展”，被中央图书馆、中国美术馆、中国革命博物馆等收藏。
Ai Zhongxin was born in Shanghai in 1915. He graduated from the Department of Art of National Central University in 1941 and stayed for teaching. He was an associate researcher of China Academy of Art, professor and Director of Oil Painting Department of China Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1954. He also served as Director of Wu Zuoren Fine Art Foundation and member of China Artists Association. His works were showed in the Second National Fine Arts Exhibition, and were collected by art institutions and museums such as National Art Museum of China.
