沙 耆 1914年生于浙江宁波。1937年师从徐悲鸿先生，同年由徐悲鸿介绍赴比利时皇家艺术学院深造。1939年获比利时优秀美术金质奖。1940年与毕加索等著名画家一起参加比利时阿特利蒙展会，后多次在比利时举办个展，作品被比利时皇太后收藏。1983年5月，浙江省博物馆、中国美术学院和中国美协浙江分会在杭州举办“沙耆画展”。1984年被聘为上海文史研究馆馆员。1998年中国美术学院研究部、台湾卡门国际艺术中心先后在上海、北京举办沙耆艺术观摩及研讨会。
Sha Qi was born in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province in 1914. In 1937, he began his study under the instruction of Xu Beihong who in the same year recommended him to study in Belgium Royal Institute of Fine Arts. In 1939, he was granted with Gold Awards for Excellent Arts there. His works were exhibited in Belgium with Picasso in 1940. In May, 1983, Zhejiang Museum, China Academy of Art and China Artists Association held art exhibition for him in Hangzhou. In 1984, he was employed as a researcher by Culture and History Institution of Shanghai. In 1998, the Research Department of China Academy of Art and Taiwan Carmen International Art Centre held Sha Qi's art exhibitions and seminars in Shanghai and Beijing successively.
