A BIÊN HÒA 边和 STONEWARE THREE-LEGGED EWER AND COVER BIÊN HÒA 边和 SCHOOL OF APPLIED ARTS VIETNAM, 20TH CENTURY Modeled after an archaistic bronze ritual wine vessel of the Shang Dynasty, it rests on three curved feet with dragon faces and has a globular compressed body surmounted by a short rim and by an arch-shaped handle as well as topped by a lid. The spout is shaped as a dragon. The body is all covered with geometric patterns including stylized banana leaves. It is all covered with light brown and green enamels to imitate a bronze patina. The base bears an impressed mark of rectangle shape (unidentified). H: 23 cm
