A late 19th century Russian silver snuff box, of rounded rectangular form, the hinged lid with niello decoration depicting a domed building, within stipple and zig zag punched borders with corner foliate detail also in niello, the base with a similarly decorated surround to a geometric mosaic pattern and central vacant roundel. Assay marks struck to interior for Moscow 1890, 84 standard, other marks partly worn. Length 3.25 (8.5cm), gross weight 3.2 ozt (99.6 grams).
