A mid-19th century Russian silver travelling candle holder, mark of Sazikov, the rounded rectangular dish base with personal engraving in French, the centre rising to a short hollow stem with a removable plain socket. Struck to base with the Imperial Warrant and maker's mark, 84 standard, alongside a partly worn Assay Master mark dated 1858 and an indistinct city mark, socket marked 84 only with a cyrillic maker's mark. Length of base 3.5 (9cm), weight 4.82 ozt (150 grams).
