铭文： 一得永得，妙理自明。辛丑春一清氏识，胡照书。

砚随形，为端溪子石所作，略加雕琢，古朴自然，石色红紫，质地坚实细润，锋芒内蕴，下发墨极佳。配红木砚盒。铭者简介： 胡照［清］，僧。字见明，号古岩，江苏常熟人居安徽泾县长春庵。山水学王原祁，兰竹学石涛，俱能得其形似。年未三十，足迹徧历楚、越，所至名士争相酬赠，汇刻之，名饀玉集。有《古岩诗钞》。
