铭文：1. 瑶池之寔，寿世之珍。天赐文人，永保无垠。姜树铭。2. 戊午春，予偕世堃姜贰尹访端溪，明府裴洁簠研求图纬，因及曼倩射覆。洁簠封二物试予，且订中则请遗。是日乙酉巳时亥将课得卯酉，卯日禄值春，为桃李，其色青，乘元武，不可食。两卯夹酉，必泽中金石之器。干上戌，为代天巡历之神，又为足能行，乘朱雀，为言臣，似纪录之书。启视乃是砚与历代名臣言行录，群推亿中，予亦自喜弋获，随请铭于世堃而珍藏之。萧韶志。

砚随形而作，圆浑饱满，随形开淌池，线条圆浑厚朴。石色紫，包浆厚重，石质细腻温润，下发墨极佳。配紫檀木雕寿桃形砚盒。铭者简介： 萧韶［清光绪］，曾任浙江按察使，江西布政使。
