Utagawa Kuniteru (active 1818-1860) Shitta Taishi (Prince Siddhartha) Edo period, 1847-52, the centre sheet from the triptych 'Kudami-jo hojo-e o okonaite zenkon o hodokosu zu' (Kudami-jo Does a Good Deed by Releasing Living Things), signed Ichiyûsai Kuniteru ga in a fan cartouche 35.5 x 25cm, Hasegawa Sadanobu (1809-1879) of the actor Nakamura Shikan 35 x 23.5cm, and two other theatrical characters 35 x 23.5 and 34.5 x 22.5 (4) Condition report: Hasegawa Sadanobu - badly damaged to edges and corners and repaired. Utagawa Kuniteru - Tears to edges, small holes to the centre and lower right section. All with water stains, dirt marks, cocklings and foxings, tears to edges, colours faded. One with discolouration to the top section, possibly resulted from the tape from the back. Possibly a repair. One with repairs to the back. A small pinhole to both top corners.
