A good pair of George III-style wing armchairs, late 19th/early 20th century, upholstered in scarlet floral silk, over scrolled seat rails carved with satyrs' masks and scrolling foliage, the scrolled legs also with satyrs' masks above lion's paw feet, 89cm wide 75cm deep 117cm high (2) Condition report: Recently re-upholstered. Joints solid. Some fading and discolouration to frame. Timber appears to have been stripped and re-finished. Rubbing to areas of high relief. Evidence of repair to one back leg on each chair. Knocks and abrasions to legs and frame. Old breaks and repairs. Some chips and losses.
