A large pair of Imari vases and covers, late 19th century, the domed covers with flat finials over ovoid shaped bodies, painted with panels of birds on a characteristic ground, 63cm high (4) Condition report: Hairline crack to one cover. The cracked cover with a staple and also chipped. Pitting and firing faults. Rubbing and wear to paint and gilt. Some glaze chips. General wear. Possible repair to both finials, or they have just been crudely applied. Dirt and dust.
