French Royal full "morocco" leather binding with elaborately tooled gilding and the Bourbon Fleur-de-Lis Crest with Crown to front and back with a title to spine "Cruikshank Sketches, the binding probably 18th Century; the previously blank pages now mounted with 146 original early 19th Century copperplate engravings by George Cruikshank (England 1792-1878), uncolored, with many famous images from his yearly ic Almanack", mounted approximately 4 to a page on one side only; together with a group of 41 additional original prints abstracted from the Folio with a few pages left blank in the back of the Folio; edges gilt. Height of binding 17 1/2 inches (44 cm.) X width of binding 13 inches (33 cm.). PROVENANCE: Purchased from Swann Auction Galleries, New York, NY, Sale 1626, Lot 105, 1980's-90's.
