200+ Copper Plate Engravings 1770's to 1790's includes Famous Actors & Actresses in Costume, many in British Theater Scenes; together with 30 Neoclassical line engravings from Napoleonic French Theater circa 1800, 50+ photo lithographic illustrations from old books about Nijinski & the Ballet Russe circa 1920's and lithographic illustrations by Gavarni for "La Boeheme;" in a red fabric storage box. The majority of 18th Century engravings approximate height 5 3/4 inches ( cm.) X approximate width 3 1/2 inches ( cm.). NOTE: These rare British Theatrical engravings are mostly title pages published by John Bell (1745-1831) in "Bells British Theater", owner of "The British Library - Strand, London," with a few from his successor in the business through the late 1790's, George Cawthorn. The Actors and Plays are identified including many with quotations from the works.
