In-8, half morocco bradel fawn with corners, smooth back ornamented lengthwise, covers (Carayon). The first edition and first French translation of Nodier? is illustrated with a portrait of the author mounted on China, 10 engraved steel plates after TONY JOHANNOT protected by a snake with the printed caption, and a hundred or so vignettes on wood in text engraved by the best artists of the time. Freckles-free copy in a nice signed binding.
