A POLYCHROME PAINTED BLACK-GROUND TORMA CABINET, Tibet, ca. 1900, the rectangular cabinet has a pair of hinged doors which are finely painted with each a head of a protective deity, both display a wrathful expression with bulging eyes, open mouth showing two rows of teeth and fangs, their red coloured flaming hairdo secured with a tiara consisting of five skulls, various attributes surrounding the heads, including spears and skulls filled with human body parts, the lower register with cloud motifs and the upper section with a garland of various human body parts - Property from an old German private collection, mostly assembled in the 1970's - Wear, minor damages due to age
