THREE THANGKAS DEPICTING SADAKSHARILOKESHVARA, SARVABUDDHADAKINI AND MAHACAKRAVAJRAPANI, TIBET, 19th ct., The first of a gold background depicting the four-armed Sadaksharilokeshvara seated in vajrasana on a lotus base and surrounded by a multitude of his manifestations, in brocade mounting; Sarvabuddhadakini standing in alidhasana on two figures placed on a lotus base, holding karttrika and kapala and surrounded by various figures, in cotton mounting: and Mahacakravajrapani embracing his consort, standing in pratyalidhasana on two figures placed on a lotus base, his six arms radiating around him with his principle hands holding the vajra and kapala and surrounded by a multitude of his manifestations. - Property from an important South German private collection of a nobleman, starting his collection of Tibetan art in 1965, mostly purchased from Nagel and Schoettle East Asian Art, Stuttgart, the goldground thangka bought from Schoettle no. 8138 before 1986 - Wear, damages
