笄是古人用来簪髪和连冠用的饰物，后世称为“簪”。此笄为黄玉质，材质珍稀，整体以鹰为雕刻题材，分为两节，首部浅刻钩嘴鹰纹，双翼收拢在背后交迭，整体姿态如站立高处傲视一切，威武勇猛。鹰尾为笄体，突棱，并作钻孔，笄尾则略细，呈圆锥形，尾部的红沁经年盘玩呈熟坑状。鹰纹玉笄造型罕见，形象地刻划出鹰的特征，头部、喙部、羽翼、足部均清晰可辨，雕工精美，形制、纹饰、工艺具有石家河时期玉雕风格。
