TÊTE DE DIVINITÉ EN GRÈSCambodge, style d'Angkor Vat, XIIe siècle A SANDSTONE HEAD OF A DEITY Cambodia, Angkor Wat style, 12th century The jatamukuta cover imitates the detailed goldsmith work from the period with a succession of five concentric crowns alternating decorations of pearls and small lotus leaves. The tiara is also typical of the style with bands of small stylised lotus leaves, a row of pearls, florets with diamonds and half diamonds, and narrow lanceolate leaves alternating with small blue lotus stems and secured at the back by a knotted twisted cords. His face finely carved with full lips, incised eyes, and softly arched eyebrows, his hair arranged in braided rows, stand. 16cm (6 1/4in) high. (2).
