A late 17th century silver Admiralty Oar penner and inkwell, maker's mark WB with three pellets below, circa 1680-1700, tapering form, the screw-off cover reveals and inkwell and a pierced grille for a dander, the cylindrical stem with a screw-off cover, scratch initialled 'E.E', the interior with a pull-out unmarked oar, length 15.3cm, approx. weight 2.3oz.
