龙威严祥瑞，于干旱时救降甘霖，唯盛世贤君时可见之。此件铜龙圆目炯炯，长吻怒张，獠牙外露，威猛有神，线条强而有力，原应作飞龙于天之貌，展现元代艺术大胆不羁、自由奔放之精髓。
元代龙形器物常为君王、朝廷、仕人所造，异于以往多以祭祀或墓葬为主，因此存世可见元朝铜质文房用具、饰件及大型建筑构件，如同此例。
