A BRONZE FIGURE OF SITATARA Tibet, 16. Jh. H. 17,5 cm Seated in vajrasana on a lotus-base with her right hand in the varadamudra while the left is raised in front of her breast in the vitarkamudra, both originally holding stems of lotuses flowering along hrt upper arms, wearing sari, cape draped around her shoulders, its streamers encircling both arms and falling down on the base, bejewelled, her face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows, raised urna at her forehead, elongated earlobes with ear-ornaments, her hair combed in a high chignon and secured with a tiara, sealed.
