A BRONZE FIGURE OF MAITREYA TIbet, 16th ct. H. 18,2 cm Seated in vajrasana on a lotus-base with his right hand raised in the vitarkamudra while the other is resting on his lap, both holding stems of lotuses flowering along the upper arms, one supporting a stupa, wearing dhoti, cape draped around his shoulders, its streamers encircling the arms, bejewelled, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows running into the nose-bridge, raised urna inlaid with a turquoise bead, his hair combed in a chignon topped with a stupa, secured with a tiara decorated with a pair of floating ribbons and pattras, sealed.
