古人熏香亦重观赏，历来鸭形熏为文人所喜斋设之器。唐李商隐《促漏诗》有“睡鸭炉香换夕熏”，明朱有墩编撰《元工凋词一百首》中有“金鸭烧残午夜香，内家初试越罗裳”。此铜鸭形熏铜质厚重润泽，周身鎏金，錾刻精湛，鸭首略俯口部微张，脖颈弯曲，尾羽微翘，双脚撑立，造型饱满生动。背部设盖，腹部中空，可装香料，鸭嘴与脖颈、腹部相通，可使香烟从最终屡屡而出，设计巧妙，生意盎然。
