刘旦宅 1931年生于浙江温州。1951年从事连环画工作，曾任上海中国画院画师、上海师范大学美术系教授、中国美术家协会会员、上海中国画院画师、上海师范大学美术学院名誉院长。曾获“1981年全国邮票最佳奖”、“1985年中国体育美术展览荣誉奖”。代表作有《曹雪芹生平》、《琵琶行》、《洛神赋》。
Liu Danzhai was born in Wenzhou, Zhejiang in 1931 and started his career as a comic strip creator in 1951. He worked as painter of Shanghai Chinese Painting Institute and Honorary President of Fine Arts College of Shanghai Normal University. He was award the Best Stamp of China in 1981 and Honorable Prize of China Sports Art Exhibition in 1985 for his great works including Life of Cao Xueqin, Pi Pa Xing and Ode to the River Goddess.
