款识：地上老人天上星，长头阔额苍龙形。髭须不落涂云母，牙齿长存吃茯苓。竹杖四棱春水碧，藤鞋一緉瓜皮青。三千甲子犹弹指，游戏尘寰托片翎。甲子暮冬十有九日，为筑翁老伯大人寿，写南极老人图以祝，愚侄颜云霖。

颜伯龙 1898年生于北京。毕业于北京师范学校，继入北京艺术专门学校国画系，受业于王梦白、陈衡恪，毕业后被聘为北京师范学校及艺术专门学校国画教师、中国画学研究会评议委员。
Yan Bolong was born in Beijing in 1898. He studied in Beijing Normal School and Chinese Painting Department of Beijing Art School successively where he studied from Wang Mengbai and Chen Hengke. After graduation, he was employed as a Chinese painting teacher of his two mother schools. He is also a member of review committee of Chinese Painting Institute.
