识文：夜静思愈燥，时危愧独贤。百忧支痩骨，多病入中年。酒薄难成梦，秋清不耐眠。相看复相慰，冷月照愁边。十月五夜，不寐。秋山缺处见明月，孤客繁思生暮潮。洁到更无星可近，姮娥应悔置身高。十月四夜，不寐，步月。十月廿八夜，复不寐，起书旧作。杨铨。钤印：杏佛（朱）
杨杏佛书自作诗《不寐》二首，描述因中年多病、持身孤洁、忧国忧民以致夜不能寐的景状。从1930年左右开始，杨杏佛长患失眠症，需服安眠药入睡，由诗中“夜静思愈燥”、“秋清不耐眠”等，推测此二诗应是作于1930或1931年左右。这一时期杨杏佛积极投入社会活动，常往返各地，且婚姻出现不和，又深忧国家之危难，常夜不能寐。
