铭文： 一片绿荫如洗，护竹何劳荆杞。仍将竹作笆篱，求人不如求己。癸未秋，子玉制。

澄泥砚为四大名砚中唯一以窑烧法所制之砚，因土质和烧制时的火候不同，澄泥砚有多种色泽，以“朱砂红”、“鳝鱼黄”、“蟹壳青”、“绿豆沙”、“玫瑰紫”诸色为上品，此砚为绿豆沙色，形体小巧，雕成半剖之竹节形，雕工质朴，砚质细腻、匀净，为澄泥砚中少见之品。配红木砚盒。
