若追溯中国古人以锡罐储存茶叶的历史，或已达千年，锡罐隔湿隔热，因其优良的性能，十八世纪就开始作为储存出口茶叶的器皿运输至国外，近代以来日本受此风气浸染，锡器在茶席中应用的十分普遍。此件锡罐体量较大，皮壳发亮，引人注目，器物下部内收，整体观之犹如水滴，灵透不凡。
