地藏王菩萨因其“安忍不动如大地，静虑深密如秘藏”，故名地藏，以其“久远劫来屡发弘愿”，被尊称为大愿地藏王菩萨。与普贤、文殊、观音合为佛教四大菩萨，深受世人敬仰。其道场在安徽九华山。 此像精铸，法相庄严。菩萨为比丘相，眉间有白毫，鼻梁挺直，面容饱满，嘴角略带微笑，表情安详。着交领式袈裟，服饰皱褶交代清晰。菩萨一手作持锡杖状（已佚），一手持宝珠状，庄严威武。全跏趺端坐于莲花座之上。整体形态端庄，躯体敦厚，体态匀称，肌肤丰满圆润。
